WHAT EVEN IS THE BALL

WHAT IS BALL COMMITEE?

So the ball committee is a team of 5 or 6 individuals who are willing and enthusiastic to organise the annual ball. 
Usually, the committee consists of 2 freshers, 2 members who have been in the club longer than a year and 1 oldie if possible.

The ball typically was two nights away with one being the ball and a prizegiving and one of the days spent doing races/attempts to get down Jacksons.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?

The following is what was typically done but its a fresh start after covid now so you can come up with a new plan if you like!


Llynams and the MIC hut need to be booked soon if you were to do it in March as usual. 
Haggle with llynams for a good deal to include 3 courses and a bottle of wine or two per table. 
Then it’s just a DJ and Photographer to organise.As if your photographer can do a photo booth. People really like that.

DO WE HAVE TO STICK TO THE ORIGINAL PLAN?

Absolutely not! After covid, the current committee has reinvented how they run the club. Its a fresh start and you guys can run the ball the way you want, we do recommend that you include a day of paddling/racing down Jacksons though to keep that one tradition alive :)

AWARD CEREMONY

This takes place once every has had their dinner and before they hit the dance floor. You can get some of the committee to organise the raffle so they go round and ask for prizes from different places. 
Also, get joke prizes for the fake awards. Just funny prizes for things that happened during the year. Normally bought a week or two before. Oh and decorations like bubbles or whatever for the tables.

HOW WILL I KNOW IVE BEEN PICKED?

The Committee will let the members who were interested know if they got the spot via a message on instagram or messenger.
